Terms of Service

Effective date: June 1, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the PermitsHub website at https://permitshub.ca and any building permit or permit drawing services provided by PermitsHub (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Services

PermitsHub provides building permit support services, including:

  • Permit drawings (site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and structural details)
  • Zoning by-law review and compliance analysis
  • Building permit application preparation and submission
  • Plan review comment responses and revision management
  • Committee of Adjustment application support (where applicable)

Our services are professional drawing and application management services. We are not lawyers and do not provide legal advice. Zoning and bylaw analysis is provided for informational purposes to support the permit application process.

3. No guarantee of permit approval

Building permit approval is the decision of the relevant municipal authority (e.g., the City of Toronto, City of Vaughan, Town of Oakville). We do not guarantee and cannot guarantee that a permit application will be approved. Our obligation is to prepare accurate, code-compliant drawings and manage the application process diligently. Where the City requests revisions, we manage those revisions as part of our service until the permit is issued or the application is formally denied.

4. Flat-rate pricing and payment

We quote a flat rate for each project before work begins. Our quote covers permit drawings, zoning review, application submission, and revision management as described in your project engagement. There are no hourly billing charges or surprise revision fees within the agreed scope.

Municipal permit fees, development charges, engineering consultation fees, and any other third-party costs are separate and are not included in our service fee unless explicitly stated in your quote.

Payment terms are as set out in your project quote. Work begins upon receipt of the agreed deposit. Final drawings and application submissions are provided upon receipt of the full quoted fee.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel a project at any time by written notice to info@permitshub.ca. Refunds are as follows:

  • Cancellation before drawings are commenced: full refund of amounts paid
  • Cancellation after drawings have commenced but before submission: fee for work completed to date, remainder refunded
  • Cancellation after permit submission: no refund; full fee is earned upon submission

6. Your responsibilities

To enable us to perform our services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your property and project scope
  • Notify us promptly of any changes to the project scope, property conditions, or ownership
  • Respond to our reasonable requests for information or approvals in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all construction is carried out by qualified contractors in accordance with the approved permit drawings

7. Intellectual property

Upon receipt of full payment for a project, all permit drawings prepared by PermitsHub for that project are assigned to you for use in connection with the described project at the described property. We retain the right to use project work in our portfolio (without disclosing personal information) and in aggregate statistical or training purposes. You may not resell, license, or transfer our drawings to third parties for use on different projects without our prior written consent.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PermitsHub’s total liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid by you for the specific project giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for delays caused by municipal review backlogs, third-party engineers, or circumstances outside our control; for construction defects arising from contractor deviations from approved drawings; or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Website use

The PermitsHub website and its content are provided for informational purposes. The tools, guides, and articles on our website are general guidance only and do not constitute legal, engineering, or zoning advice for your specific property. Always confirm permit requirements with the relevant municipal authority or a qualified professional before commencing work.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
